Skittles' Diary

My Dearest Diary,Fighting
February 26, 2007

Oh dear. I've been busy. We've had drama and trauma since I last wrote you diary. Let's try to recap.

One week after the visit of doom, I was to make another visit. After the impression I made on them last time, they decided I needed to be given medicine to make me sleepy. Well, this little kitty didn't like it. No, it wasn't the taste. It was actually wrapped in cheese, so I didn't mind it. My body didn't like it.

At first I felt wobbly and woozy. That was to be expected. Then I started panting and growling. From what I am told, after that I had a full on seizure. Daddy felt bad the first time he took me to the vet as a kitten and I know he felt bad when this happened. I ended up OK in the end, but it was not a fun thing to experience.

So, that was the most traumatic thing that happened to me. Mommy got pretty sick and daddy too. The holidays came and went, but the house was being worked on so it wasn't a big event here. I slept in and got treats because Daddy was off for a week while they worked on the floor of the house.

I can run and slide from room to room now. It is great except when I am trying to get to my food. Sometimes I am in such a hurry I forget to slow down in time and I slide right past my food and into the other room. I know it amuses some people, but it can be a little annoying when I am hungry. Humans are way to easily amused.

I also have to report some sad news. There are two boy cats that live outside. One is a little older than the other and a whole lot meaner. Well, the younger of the two was hit by a car this past week. Daddy was outside and heard the car and realized what had happened. He died with Daddy holding him and was buried under a nice shady tree.

I had heard mommy and daddy talk about getting the two of them and taking them to a place like I was adopted from, but it was just not in the cards for the young orange kitty. Don't tell mommy and daddy, but he was really nice and always came to the window to talk to me. I didn't mind him. He was a nice young fella. The older cat is bitter and doesn't like conversation. His loss!

Mommy's still busy with school and always has her laptop, so that is also contributing to my delayed entries. I try to use her desktop, but it is difficult for me to type with the current setup. If I could convince her to put her mouse and keyboard on the desk itself, it would make things so much easier. Either that or just leave the laptop for me to use. She'll be done with school in a four or five months, so I can just ask for it then. She won't mind. She'll be miss fancy pants and all that. She'll probably get herself a new one. I can hope, right?

Well, I'm feeling a nap coming on so goodnight diary!
