Oh what am month I have had. Just as I was ready to make an entry about my help in the repairs from the hurricane (or hurry-cane as I have begun calling it) I find that the computers have been locked up securely and that there are boards on the windows. For a second I thought maybe the house had been wrongly condemned, but that wasn't it. That was a good thing because we only lost some shingles and had a slightly damaged fence thanks to Charley. Some of our neighbors had no roof left at all.
Well, the reasons for the boards was that apparently another hurricane was on the way. Her name was Frances. Well Frances took forever. With Charley we were without power for a few days and my uncles houses were without power for eleven days. We never lost power this time, though my uncles each lost power for two days.
It sure was rough. I think it started a little on Friday and this morning (Tuesday) I think we felt the last of it. Apparently Frances was a bit on the big side. I overheard this morning that there is another hurricane named Ivan out there. I've had it with hurricanes. I recall Mommy talking about moving to Bermuda, but I would have protested that. They get even more hurricanes. I almost miss getting snowstorms now. At least I could sit near an air duct and keep warm from the heat.
The cam is back, but it isn't in my favorite spot. Something is still wrong with power in the room with my bench, so we can't really run anything in there. We're hoping to get it fixed soon, but I'm not holding my breath.
Well, I think I will go in search of ice cream. They have to have some around here, somewhere. It wouldn't be right if they didn't. Night Diary.
