Potty problems & a new toy
October 5, 2000
I really don't know what the problem was. I ate a bunch of those cornstarch peanuts. I read that they are ok if eaten, because they dissolve, but mommy went ballistic when she discovered I had shredded open a box and gotten into them. She was so mad. Then, I had a little potty emergency, and well, I had an accident. I got a little bit of a mess on me from not completely "cleaning up after myself." So mommy smelled it and went nuts. Next thing I know, I'm getting a human bath!!
She got a wash cloth and washed me. She didn't use soap, but she used a lot of water. After the first few contacts with the water, I just gave in and let her do what she wanted. I thought it best not to struggle. But boy was it horrible! I was soaked to the core. My poor fur. It took forever to get dry. Mommy tried to dry me with a towel, but I just ran. I licked like mad for a good 3 or 4 hours. It was so wet.
Since all that occurred early this morning, mommy completely blocked all access to the cornstarch peanuts. I am a little upset about that, but I'm devising a plan!
It's been raining like cats and dogs all day. We didn't actually have any cats or dogs come down this time, but it was loud and noisy. I was not happy. I wanted to go outside. I was quite looking forward to it.
Mr. Jamie gave me something really neat. He gave me a network cable that doesn't work anymore. He took it and bounded it up nice and good so that I don't hurt myself, and then mommy, daddy and Mr. Jamie took turns helping me chase it. It was great. I would grab a hold of it with all of my paws, and my teeth, and they would tug. It was like grabbing a snake and winning without getting bit! It was fun!
That's why I am kind of tired now. I played for a few hours tonight, and it feels like I've been running around all day!
I almost got a big hunk of cheese tonight too! The humans had calzone for dinner and there just happened to be a hunk of melted mozzarella cheese in the box and I went for it! Mommy has some sort of psychic powers, because she always knows when I am doing something she doesn't want me to. Just like she always knows when daddy is coming. It's like she can feel it. She's weird.
Well, I think I'm going to get doing. I'm tired. I'm going to do a lot of resting tomorrow. Maybe I can convince mommy to sleep in late. Maybe the power will go out and alarms won't work! That's an even better idea. Night diary.
